A House Built with LOVE


There's no doubt that Damascene Houses are one of the most charming and wondrous houses in the entire world
You can't judge it without taking a quick but accurate look on the interior design!
And here is WHY?
Take a deep breathe!




The basement floor
When you enter the house you will be in a tight path that will take you to the inner courtyard, Where you will be astonished of the walls with harmonious, geometric and artistic decorations and various trees and plants.
YOU are standing in front of a huge yard open to the sky, adorned with ancient majestic trees and plants and rare Damascene flowers.
There are jasmine, mulberry, orange, lemon, sweet and sour lemon, and orange, which are of the trees whose leaves do not change and do not fall, neither in summer nor in winter, but remain green throughout the year!.
In the middle of this heaven there is the fountain.

The ground floor
The fountain is Facing the IWAN is the main guest reception hall – used for special ceremonies and festivities such as Eid. This hall is the most decorated space in the house and contains the best items of furniture.
In addition to the IWAN , the ground floor also contains the kitchen and toilets.
The first floor is called the Haramlek. This is a word of Turkish origin meaning a women’s section in the house. The living and sleeping areas are totally segregated.

Love and Good neighborly.
When a man wants to get married but there is no more free rooms in the house ,his father asks the neighbor to build an arch between the two houses in a very lovely way “(عيرني كتفك)”
which means lend me your shoulder .
when i first heard about it ,i was astonished!
this really tells alot about people!
The old city of Damascus was built with warm and love!
